Absolutely love this place. Classic and beautiful diner with menu to satisfy every palate. Corned beef hash homemade and delicious. Turkey dinner like thanksgiving. Warm service and you always feel like home. Wish we had these on the West Coast!
My family arrived 1/2 hour before closing, not realizing the closing time. They were so accommodating and told us not to rush. My chicken kabob dinner was delicious. And enough to take home for the next night. We will be back

We were on the road to visit Family that we have not seen for awhile. My Daughter and I, we did not have lunch , so we stopped at this Diner it has a traditional old feel look and loved that it felt familiar. We ordered lunch, I ordered chicken Kebab and my mother ordered a Chicken Salad, we really enjoyed it. Service was very fast considering that only one waitress was around. We will definitely visit again.
What a gem! I came in to wait while getting my car inspected at Bob's up the street and am so glad I did. They have excellent WiFi, I had a coffee and a deluxe lox platter. I'd be back in a heartbeat. Friendly service, great diner atmosphere with hilarious patrons ('my wife's dog only sheds for six months twice a year' lol). I'd warn you to use the bathroom before you get here or after you leave because theirs is a certified superfund site. But other than that I loved it!
This dinner is part of Hastings history. The atmosphere is great. Marble floors tables and walls. The food was great, and grapefruit juice was fresh. Seinfield and Hasan Minhaje were there for shooting a show. The service was great. The lady who served us was very kind and attentive to our requests. You can walk into the dinner from the back where the parking lot is. It is meter park but you can park for free after 6 pm in the parking lot.
This place is a real gem. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is quick and friendly, and the food... I had what they call the Balboa (roast beef with mozzarella on garlic bread) and I can say, with no exaggeration, that it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. So yea, come to the Hastings Center Diner, sit down, take in the atmosphere, and get the Balboa. You won't regret it.
My wife loves a diner. Me, I love when my wife is happy. She loves this joint. Coffee is good. Service is friendly. Menu is comically large and I always get eggs and end up happy.
